Welcome Autumn.

So maybe I’m a little late with this, but I’m slowly getting ready to welcome in Autumn. So here’s my first autumn look – sort of autumn look anyway.

For some reason, SL is just so so so so slow today. I’ve actually given up shopping after just standing around looking at grey squares for ages. So now, I’m just going to call it a night, go to bed, read Wolf Hall and pout a bit.

LOTD … sort of …

Well, life is busy, first life that is. This is vacation time. We’ve been re-decoration the children’s rooms (one with owls, one with princesses) and it was really hard because we didn’t have a lot of time to do it in when the kids were away on a short holiday. Now we’re all back together and because of my back (and because of the children’s ages), we’ve decided we’re not going away this year, just going on small day trips to zoos, castles and visiting friends and family. Still, it does take a lot of time away from SL – and although I miss it, I really enjoy being out in the real world, being able to walk around and jump in trampolines. Amazing!

But no matter what, SL fashion is still fascinating (!). I put together this look a couple of days ago but didn’t get around to take pictures of it until today.

Happy Birthday, TOSL

Wow. Taste of Second Life is really an incredible group of people. Not only do they have an amazing hunt going on right now as well as a Gatcha event, they still manage to pull of the normal weekend event. And it’s a pretty great weekend – 29 stores participate to say Happy Birthday to TOSL, celebrating it’s 1 year anniversary.

Dragonfly

At the moment, I’m reading a series of fantasy books about insect kinden (The Shadow of the Apt series by Adrian Tchaikovsky) – and therefore, this dragonfly necklace available at The Fashion Garret immediately caught my eye. The book is the typical fantasy story – band of unlikely hero goes up against the big bad – but it is done a bit more clever than most and the idea of insect kinden really makes it new and fresh. I must admit that SL has severely limited the time I spend reading but this series is slowly pulling me back into books and I’m happy about that. Now, I just need to find the balance between reading and SLing – I don’t want to loose either one.

This outfit also embodies a bit of guilt. See, I’m wearing my fatpack shoes – and I … well, I couldn’t decide on which color to get the dress in and since I love League, I kind of just went for the fatpack of dresses too. And this dress really is amazing. I’m not sad at all that I got it as a fatpack – I love the soft muted colors of it. It reminds me of Fishy Strawberry colors as well – and I love Fishy Strawberry too so this is perfect for me.

Going hunting

I’ve started on the First Annual Super Hero Hunt. So far I’ve just been going through the stores, picking up the gifts, not opening anything yet.

I really like a lot of the hairs from Argrace, but what’s with the color? This hair I’m wearing, is red – and as a red head I can say, this is not red. It’s not even close. So I wish Argrace would make truly red hair.

New favorite skirt?

So this might be my new favorite skirt. It’s a bit different, it’s fun and cool, and it’s very sexy. I paired it with a top and a denim jacket, some sexy gartered stockings and long denim boots.

I have to say, though, that I’ve had a hard time fitting these boots. They are very long and the issue is probably that I’m short. Very very short by SL standards. So when I got them fitted below my knees, they were too small. If I just dragged them down, then the alpha layer kicked in and parts of my legs are gone. They fit okay now – and I really do think that the issue is my very short legs.

Annie get your bow

I usually don’t wear dresses. I mostly wear skirts or pants and combine them with whatever I feel like. But I liked this dress so …

One of the think I liked the most about it, was the unusual color combination – aqua and cintz. The cintz do look a bit dark to me to really be what I think of as cintz – and what google displayed as cintz – but it looks beautiful so who cares what this exact color is called. (It comes in two other color combinations two – ditsy floral and sunshine. Sunshine is yellow and green and I really like that one too!)

To really show the colors, I chose to take these pictures at my favorite sim in SL – World’s End Garden. I just love this place, it changes a bit once in a while and it has some interesting music (Gregorian monk chanting combined with ‘heartbeat drums’). I come by quite often to see if it has changed.

The dress is beautiful in itself and has something of a … hm …
