Well, life is busy, first life that is. This is vacation time. We’ve been re-decoration the children’s rooms (one with owls, one with princesses) and it was really hard because we didn’t have a lot of time to do it in when the kids were away on a short holiday. Now we’re all back together and because of my back (and because of the children’s ages), we’ve decided we’re not going away this year, just going on small day trips to zoos, castles and visiting friends and family. Still, it does take a lot of time away from SL – and although I miss it, I really enjoy being out in the real world, being able to walk around and jump in trampolines. Amazing!

But no matter what, SL fashion is still fascinating (!). I put together this look a couple of days ago but didn’t get around to take pictures of it until today.

something. I’m not feeling very bluesy so I definitely didn’t get that. Maybe it would be more correct to say dress since I actually got this dress as a gift. One day when I went to Fishy Strawberry to buy the fatpack of Aragon skirts (it’s my favourite skirt, what can I say – I had to have them all even though I had already bough a couple…) and I was lucky enough to meet Fae Eriksen, the designer of Fishy Strawberry. I chatted a bit with her – about how much I love what she creates – and she gave me this dress, probably mostly to make me shut up and go away …

Anyways, I’ve been trying it on several times and never quite could get an outfit to work but I love this outfit! The belt is totally awesome and really works for this dress – and the boots, oh I love the boots! And then of course the tights from LeeZu! giving it a bit of edge – the tights are to die for!

I do have a brief comment on the hair, however. While it’s big and bold and beautiful, it’s also shaped to allow room for your shoulders and arms – this means however, that when you move, these holes stay the same … and it looks kind of weird. It’s not a free flowing hair like you’d get from Amacci for instance.

Shoes, shoes, shoes (Shoe Fair 2011 #4)

There’s shoes everywhere! Where ever I look – shoes, shoes, shoes. It’s amazing! And it’s so much fun walking around and looking even though not all booths are ready yet. You get to say hi to some of the creators and see the stores being build.

But of course – this is about the shoes! And oh, this is going to be one expensive fair! So many pretty shoes to choose from. I’ve been trying not to buy shoes recently (although I did pick up a few at Culture Shock) in expectation of the many great shoes at this fair and I’m not disappointed. In fact, I’m so excited about the whole thing and my inventory is filling up with shoes of many shapes, forms and colors.

The layout of this thing is a big square, so it’s near impossible to get lost, Catero Revolution told me (yes, also known as Mr. Revolution, partner to Strawberry Singh, blogger and photographer (and many other things) extraordinaire). There are some booths still free when all the shoe stores have set up so stores selling other things for avatar clothing and accessories will be allowed to set up in these. So more than shoes to spend your lindens on! (Vanitas Vesture and Grixdale (both clothes) and !bang, Diesel works and estehtica (all poses) are among these extra shops.)

But really , even if you just look at the shoe shops, this fair is huge! I’ve spend hours tonight and I’m not done yet. And there’s no lag and there are booths not set up yet. So when first the lag hits this place, it’s going to take forever! But it’s worth it.

I’ve bought so many shoes so it was really difficult to find out which pair to blog first … But these lace heels fitted right with my very cool pants from LeeZu! and the amazing shirt from Insanya and the equally amazing necklace from League. Nena Janus has really made some great necklaces recently!

Anyway, this outfit waited just for the right shoes – and these are totally it. When I first saw them, I dismissed them – but then they intrigued me and I started to think about what I would wear with them. And now, I really love them. They come with a very easy to use Hud where you can change nail polish, the ribbon, toe ring, skin. They also come with color balls if you want to customize them even more. What can I say – I love these! They are pretty, sexy and a bit different. They have a great heel. They’re lacy and frilly – totally shoe goodness!

Identity in a Virtual World

I think I need to change. Or I know I need to change. Luckily, in Second Life, this is easy. Just a few clicks and you’re done. But not quite so in my case. You see, I don’t just want to change my hair or find a new outfit. I want to change my whole avatar and my perspective on Second Life.

I’ve been thinking a lot these last couple of days because even though I’ve been loving every minute I’ve spend inside the grid and even though almost everything I do right now involves SL in some form or other, I’ve been feeling more and more detached and estranged.

So I need to change to become what I want to be. And to do so, I need to consider what my avatar represents for me and what I want to be (I can be anything – no limits – but what do I really want to be???).

Healthy Hair – with an Asian twist

When running around in Virtual London during the Virtual London Fashion Week, I stumbled into this hair store, DrLife Healthy Hair. It was love at first sight. I like small Asian type avatars and all the hair in this store was perfect for these. So I was a small happy Bunny. But then I started trying on the hair – and realized that I disliked the light colors and that a lot of the hair was so shiny that it became completely un-natural.

So instead of going shop-amok, I settled for getting this lovely hair – beautiful black braids with a loose look. This hair I love – in the black – but not in any other color. I’ll show you what I mean below.
