Project Fur Japan

“Project FUR Japan is a group created to raise funds to aid animal rescue groups who are helping the thousands of animals lost and/or injured during the tragic earthquake and tsunami in Japan.”

This project is being organized right now. Of course none of the people participating in this, is not deeply affected by the huge loss of human lives and the deeply tragic stories we have all heard from Japan. But the simple fact is that animals are suffering too because of this event and their suffering matters both to them, to the humans they love and are loved by – and to us.

A sim has been donated by LeLutka already so what is needed, is of course designers. Please sign up here or contact Tristan Careless or Blazin Aubret in world.

The sim will be open for 2-3 weeks to collect donations for the cause. All money will go to an alternate avatar so they can be accounted for. Documents will be sent and blogged with proof of the contributions made and that all monies were sent to the charity: Japan Earthquake Animal Rescue and Support (JEARS). This group is comprised of three private No-Kill animal welfare organizations in Japan; HEART-Tokushima, Animal Friends Niigata and Japan Cat Network. No animal rescued by JEARS will be surrendered to Animal Control (where they would be at risk for euthanasia after three days) under any circumstance. They rescue, reunite and rehome lost and abandoned animals.

Please watch this video of two dogs surviving the earthquake and tsunami: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/pets/detail?entry_id=85210#ixzz1HgqQUOwp Both dogs survived – The hero dog was housed at a local animal shelter while rescuers took his injured companion for treatment at a veterinarian hospital in nearby Mito.

I know we have all just given to the various fundraisers for Japan as well as to Fashion for Life, but please, save some L$ to use at this event.
